Thank you — I haven’t read Wintering, but just added it to my library holds list (I’m #11 waiting for 1 copy). I will buy Greene’s book though. I’d read an excerpt of the book before it was published and it was beautiful and heart wrenching. One of the reasons I don’t want to write a memoir about Ana is that there are already so many memoirs about loss that are exquisite and painful. It feels…intimidating. I’ve written many essays about her too. I feel like fiction can take me to a different place — one that explores grief in a way that helps me express how detached from reality it sometimes feels.
