I'm so sorry about the loss of your daughter. You're right - it's difficult to imagine the worst case scenario is something that can happen to you or your child, so I can kind of understand the "it won't happen to me" mindset on some level, but I truly don't understand the sheer volume of people who aren't getting vaccinated or wearing masks (and, in fact, protesting masks and vaccines!) It must be nice to live in that bubble of certainty...until it pops, of course.
