How utterly atrocious of your neighbor to cut down those trees — and in the midst of nesting season! I’m so sorry to hear this and sorry for the loss of those beautiful oaks. What a terrible waste. There is a time for trees to come down (we just had two ash trees removed from the edge of our yard, but they were long dead and pretty dangerous). But to remove lovely live oaks like that…just the worst. I’m sending a hug from afar. I hope you find solace in the trees that remain. I’m starting to realize that it’s a gift to love nature, but it comes at a high cost when people, like your neighbor and mine, don’t think about destruction they cause to the environment.
