"And I felt you were taking advantage of her to keep your column alive. "

In spite of your kind words about this piece, I can't get past this sentence, particularly since you know the depth of this loss. You said that you feel I'm taking advantage of my dead child because I want content for "my column." But this isn't a column. It's a place where I write about grief so that I can, I don't know, face the day? not walk into the sea? function?

You are, of course, entitled to your feelings and opinions, but this was a hurtful, thoughtless thing to say to me. There's a mute button on Medium. Feel free to use it when you see my work come up again.
